I haven't read too many books based on ghosts but I'm thinking I need to correct that. I enjoyed this book, I liked how it was different from other paranormal books I'm used to reading. Makes for a nice change of pace when mostly you read about vampires.
The story was interesting. I like the ghast plot. There were times I wanted to smack Bennett upside the head for being a jerk and I was happy that Emma found some new friends to hang with. I really liked Coby, Sarah and Harry. I really liked the heckling ghosts in fencing class. I really got a nice laugh out of those kids.
I really felt for Emma when her parents go missing and the things that were plotted to get her to Boston. On top of her parents disappearing, she doesn't seem to have an easy time of discovering just what her parents had hid from her and what her future just might hold, Lee Nichols made her character feel real with all the things she was dealing with.
This is a well written young adult novel. It is definitely worth a read.
