I grew up reading books like The Babysitter Club and The Boxcar Kids. Now I read Romance, Young Adult, New Adult, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy, Dystopian and any mixture of these all depending on what my mood is. I love Stephen King, Michael Connolly, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Jane Austen, JK Rowling, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs and many others.

Freefall

Freefall - Mindi Scott I wasn't entirely sure what the story was supposed to be about when I started reading. I saw the cover, I bought it, I didn't really pay attention to the back cover. I had only the good reviews of some blogging friends and decided to read it. And I'm glad I did.

I loved the story. It wasn't an overly happy book, it was serious, it was real, it was bloody fantastic. Mindi Scott took a real issue, twisted it into the plot and wrote an incredible story about Seth. Seth, who isn't a character, it seems, you are meant to like at first but learn to love him a little bit more as his story is told. It's a rarity, when you can take a character that you don't love at first and end up loving him completely before the end. Most books have characters either you love them or you hate them, but that hardly changes as you read. This was masterfully done.

I liked the idea of two broken people helping each other out. While Rosetta seems to have it all together, like most people do, we see the shell crack until we are able to see the real person.

It wasn't all serious, there were some funny moments in this but I liked that it wasn't making fun of what the characters had been through or made it seem as if it were no big deal. It is a big deal and I couldn't help but love how the book felt real to me. How the emotions didn't seem fake. Highly recommended.
