I grew up reading books like The Babysitter Club and The Boxcar Kids. Now I read Romance, Young Adult, New Adult, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy, Dystopian and any mixture of these all depending on what my mood is. I love Stephen King, Michael Connolly, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Jane Austen, JK Rowling, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs and many others.

Deadly Captive

Deadly Captive - Bianca Sommerland I had a hard time reading this. Not the capture stuff, but it felt like the vampire stuff was mixed in all wrong. I was expecting something a little more sinister from the bad guys. It takes a bit to really get an idea of what is going on in the novel, around over halfway through.

Joe kept pissing me off through most of this. He was upset when Lydia was forced into something, but took it personally each time. He did things to stay alive and didn't view it as the same thing. I just wasn't impressed with the character.

I don't mind dark romances. I really don't. I like to see the people triumph in the end. But the story didn't work for me. It wasn't even clear, for the most part, what the feedings were at first. It ended a bit abruptly, with a cliffhanger, but even the cliffhanger wasn't enough to really make me want to read the next.
