This actually kept me guessing! Normally, with prophecy books, I can get it all figured out on how everything is supposed to unfold. Oh no! Toni LoTempio totally fooled me! Which, I think is awesome.
I have to admit, when I first started reading this, it was a little hard to get into. But it quickly piqued my interested and I finished the rest without much though to what I really should have been doing at the time. The story was able to stand out from a lot of the other paranormal romance books, and that is a big bonus in a genre full of other worldly creatures.
Raven was an interesting character. She wasn't likable at first, we see her as her coworkers see her. But then we get to see bits and pieces of the real Raven and the character really starts to shine. Through all of her trials, I started to like her more and more until I loved the character.
This totally had me faked out. I thought it was going to end in a huge cliffhanger. But, alas, the author has spared us. I can't stress how much I detest cliffhangers in books. I don't mind small ones that link it to the next book, but huge cliffhangers drive me nuts. I liked the way this ended. Leaves room for more and also wraps up the main story nicely.
Packed full of adventure, parallel worlds, hunky Scotsmen and a whole slew of other creatures, this was definitely a must read. Toni LoTempio is definitely on my radar now and I plan on making sure this isn't the only book of hers I read.
