I had just come off of a very emotional book when I read this and I think I got too wrapped up when Emma lost the spot that she had been training for her entire life. I was glad I picked this up, while I was a little more attached to Emma that I probably should have been, I found her antics funny and her wit very amusing. Even more, I loved that she was willing to do the right thing, even if it would cost her everything she cares about.
This was interesting. I loved the little fairies. Even if they might throw things at me for calling them little. I laughed with every scene that they were in and I loved seeing just how frustrated Emma got when trying to slay them. I even felt bad for her as she was ridiculed for week for being fairy slayer.
I liked the story line of the invisible fairy. I really thought it was a fun plot and there were times that I wasn't sure that Emma hadn't imagined it because of all that she went through. But her friends stuck by her, even Curtis, although Emma wasn't happy about that at first, and they supported her when she wasn't entirely sure what was going on. But when they found out just what was going on, they stuck together.
This was a fun, sweet and entertaining novel. It was my first by Amanda Ashby but it won't be my last. I will definitely be checking out her other books with the hope they are all just as good as this one was.
