I'm having a love/hate relationship with this story arc. On one hand, it's really intriguing and leaves me burning through the pages eager to find out what happens next. On the other hand, when I realize that the story continues in the next book, I want to cry a little because I just want to know! But truly, I'm loving the story arc and it's left me breathless at the end of this book.

This is one of the best YA series I have started. The writing is excellent and the story has a way of pulling you under until you can't eat, can't sleep, can't do anything but keep reading. The more Jace and Clary learn about themselves and the mysteriousness that involves their father, the more the story grows and changes to something I didn't see coming. And I love that I haven't managed to figure out every part of this book and series so far. Cassandra Clare has a gift for the mysterious.

I didn't think it was possible, but the story gets more complicated and intricate in this book. And I definitely love what Cassandra Clare has done with the story and characters. There were twists, plenty of heartache, and a glimpse of hope. We get to meet some more of the downworlder types and they pose some interesting questions to the story. I can tell something is up, but again, I can't quite figure out what that something is and I'm eager to get my hands on the next book to find out.

I know, I'm late when it comes to having discovered and read this series. But I'm really glad I did find it and I highly recommend others picking this up if they haven't done so yet. Full of amazing characters, complex story lines, an awesome villain you love to hate and full of mystery.
