I wasn't sure what to think of this one after I finished. I enjoyed it for the most part. While I didn't love it, I was still intrigued and the last few pages had me crying out for more. The ending is abrupt and everything is left hanging, while I am not a fan of cliffhangers, I also found I was desperate to find out what happened after the ending.
The storyline was an interesting one. It was a variation of the heaven and hell war. While the two groups are shrouded in mystery, we see glimpses of the two through the two guardians that are sent to Skye. I like the variation of the angels. They aren't exactly as we would expect and I was definitely left with the question of just who was the real bad guys were.
While the story is a bit slow paced at the beginning, it definitely picks up speed towards the end. The story was good enough that I will check out the next one and see what happens. This was a decent young adult novel and I hope to see things get better from here.
