I grew up reading books like The Babysitter Club and The Boxcar Kids. Now I read Romance, Young Adult, New Adult, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy, Dystopian and any mixture of these all depending on what my mood is. I love Stephen King, Michael Connolly, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Jane Austen, JK Rowling, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs and many others.

Babe in Boyland

Babe in Boyland - Jody Gehrman I was pretty excited to finally get around to reading this one. I had hoped for some outrageously funny events. I admit, I had She's the Man (Amanda Bynes movie) in my head when I started out with this. In the end, I think I had too much built up for the story to really love it.

I have a hard time really imagining something like this would really work (even in a movie, like the above referenced). But it is fun to watch as Nat, aka Natalie, tries to hide the fact that she's female in an all boys school. It was fun, but failed to truly impress.

I did like the theatre aspect of this. I thought it was interesting how Natalie had viewed her competition and how it plays out in the book. I wasn't so keen on the romance part of it, it seemed a little rushed.

This is read worthy, I just might suggest picking it up from the library before buying a copy.
