I grew up reading books like The Babysitter Club and The Boxcar Kids. Now I read Romance, Young Adult, New Adult, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy, Dystopian and any mixture of these all depending on what my mood is. I love Stephen King, Michael Connolly, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Jane Austen, JK Rowling, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs and many others.

Scent of a White Rose

Scent of a White Rose - Tish Thawer Scent of a White Rose is a simple, easy and fast read. I read the whole thing in a span of an afternoon. Told from the point of view from a variety of characters, we get to see into the mind of almost the whole main group.

Ms. Thawer sets up her vampires a bit differently than everyone else. From their creation story, to who is able to make more vampires. This isn't a book where just any old vampire can bite someone and turn them. I liked that because it gave a bit of conflict for the novel. The only thing I would like to see more in the second and third book is less "telling". The characters lay everything out for the reader instead of showing the reader what is going on. But overall, it's a good read with a promising storyline.
