This was the one I was waiting for. After reading the first book and getting a glimpse at what would be Will's book, I wanted it. I wish I could say it was amazing, but there was nothing here that was earth shattering. It was predictable to a point and anti-climatic climax fell a bit flat.
I like Randy and I like Will. But Willow's back story wasn't quite what I had imagined and it wasn't quite as dangerous as the author made it out to be. I was waiting for the suspense part, where her past came rushing to meet her present in a clash worthy of a good romantic suspense novel. That clash never happened. There was no hero to save the heroine. The steps the heroine took, she could have done years before and saved herself some heartache.
While the back story fell flat, I liked the romance in this one. Will was still a bit skiddish around Randy, but he saw the longing in her eyes and decided to go for it anyway. What a man! While I wish the story behind Will would have worked out better, I'm still glad to have read this. Even if I was never head over heels for any of these books, they make for a good escape. And hey, that should count for something.
