There is a specific formula that this author writes with. All of the books so far have been the same story, just different characters. Normally, by now, I would be exasperated with it and call it quits. But there is something about these characters that keeps me coming back for more. I've devoured all of these novels in a matter of weeks and I'm ready to move on to the next. While that surprises me, I'm glad that the series hasn't declined to the point where I give up on these books.
At first, I was a bit disappointed that the next few characters weren't directly in the lives of Nina and Max. These books are written in one county, three small towns. So we are able to get multiple stories, while in some way connected, but with fresh characters. After reading through to this book, I've enjoyed the jumping around and eventually coming back to see characters from previous books.
So far, these are good reads. On to the next!
